Name what Emerson's you have.

Noticed on my blade that it doesn't have the year on it. It has the serial number under the thumb disk just no year under the trade mark.
IT'S A FAKE... sorry couldn't help myself. Some special models simply don't have years along with very old models and also I believe with the newer ones they've discontinued it entirely. What model is it as that will yield an answer pretty quickly?

It is a CQC-8 full-size with the black blade. Just got it yesterday from Blade HQ. Thanks for the information!

I did have a journeyman but traded it away.. Maybe a roadhouse or 13 next?

If I remember correctly the Journeyman came out in 2012 but now is in the "limited availability" section of the Emerson site, I'm thinking it is going away at some point in time. I'm going to have to start keeping an eye out for one, preferably used but in good condition. I love the Roadhouse series though, Ernie is right when he described it as a lowered chopper; I suspect he is also right when he says it will become a classic.

The blade shape on the journeyman wasn't my cup of tea, almost too plain for my taste. I'm definitely liking a roadhouse or maybe a full size 8

Yeah I know what you mean, pretty similar to the A100 shape; can't go wrong with an 8 or a Roadhouse.

The Journeyman did go away in the sense that they are discontinued and whatever is left in stock is all that's left. It is somewhat plain and very non lethal looking, but as a working knife you can't go wrong. Although, I might not be the best source seeing as I have had two and sold both haha

Biggest mistake of my Emerson collecting was letting the Hattin I had go. Any others I have or could have replaced, but the damn Hattin is like the pot of gold at the end of a rainbow.....it's almost like they don't even exist

I feel your pain on the Hattin. I actually had a chance at nearly every one of the sig series knives. I was into another hobby and passed on all of them.
