name your knives that have broken tips

Tip from a Cold Steel Culloden (Carbon V). Gone! It was easy to re-grind and re sharpen to a more usable tip. All I did was stick it, tip first , into a pine 2x4.

Wade F,
you are right, but...
It is easy to say, if the tip breaks, the knife wasn´t designed for that thing.

Well, some knives are designed with self defense in mind. Like many of the spyderco knives. Or they are designed for cutting. Not stabbing into wood, chopping wood, etc. Most people who breaks knives do so because they do not understand what their knife was intended to do. Many of these Spyderco knives, like the Police, Delica, and Military have very thin and weak points. They are made this way so they slice better. They designed them to be good cutters, not good pry-bars, screw drivers, etc.

If people feel they need to throw, drop, or stab their knives into a chunk of wood, then they better know if their knife can take such abuse. For many knives this type of behavior is ABUSE. People who think "Well, any good knife should be able to handle this!" are foolish.

If you want to pry open a crate, get a crow bar, or a screw driver. If you break your knife, it's not the knife's fault, it's the user's fault.
