Obviously almost everyone here is a knife nut, but where do your primary knife interests lie?

I myself have owned many different brands, but ended up preferring spydies for the most part. :)

I recently picked up two discontinued models both NIB, a Japan market only delica ATS34 titanium PE and a delica 3 VG10 DLC coated PE.

well ive come to really enjoy mariner based knife styles as well as having started getting into traditional style knives. mainly Dr's Knives and trappers

Mainly well engineered folders and functionally sized(not too big, not too small) fixed blades. I do enjoy multicolored G10.

Quality. My tastes are changing. Since my seb, I haven't really enjoyed my benchmades. Got a spyderco to test the waters, but after my seb it didn't impress me. So now I have a burger on the way and I'm selling some to get an acies. At some point I'm sure I'll end up with a custom

I have discovered and come to terms with the fact that I am a very fickle, fickle knife-enthusiast. Reviewing my posts, I have seen my glaring inconsistencies concerning what knife I'd recommend, favourite EDC's, best all-round folder, etc. Sadly, the list goes on and on. Where does my hypocrisy end?? Where does it begin?? My favourite knife two weeks ago is a different knife from last week which in turn is different from this week's 'pocket hog.' :o

I guess I kinda like 'em all!:confused::thumbup:

Small fixed blades and smooth handles and or multicolored handles.... agressively textured flat black g10 doesnt do much for me. Oh and axis locks and ti frame locks I really like those too.

Nothin' like a good old traditional knife from back before the 50s, old Case, Robeson Sure Edge, Cattaraugus, Schrade, Camillus, Queen, just to name a few.

I like the old world craftsmanship and attention to detail they put in an every day carry knife, not to mention, (at least here in PA) you still can find some decent deals in yard sales and fleamarkets.

I'm not sure that I have a single interest. I am fascinated by knives as tools and am interested in all the facets that contribute to that.
Steels, and the properties that make for a good cutlery steel.
blade shape
edge geometry
handle ergonomics
handle materials.

I like both the traditional styles that I grew up with and the new one-handers. But, because of my interests, I don't so much collect as amass.

a little bit of everything except fixed blades, but i have more traditional than modern knives.

Swiss Army knives and Slippies, mostly Case but some Bucks, old (pre bankruptcy) Schrades, Queen City, tho I will look at any American made slip joint. SAKs are in class all their own.

I love big choppers and medium sized jack of all trades kind of fixed blades. Busse kin, ESEE, and Fallkniven are pretty much the only fixed blades I will buy now days.
As for folders, I like EDC's that are practical and have high wear resistant steel. I only buy spydercos, benchmades, and ZT but would love to try out some customs and high end stuff like XM 18's, Sebenzas etc....

Nothing knife related makes me happier than taking out a good ole' piece of carbon steel for a chopping session. :D

Lately I've been buying Spyderco and Busse. I've found knives like the M4 Military, the S90V Para2, and the NMSFNO are great bangs for the buck.

A single bladed cutting tool for EDC.
I like it when it's a one hand opener, lockable.

I started this hobby pretty much like everyone else, with Buck's, Benchmades, Spyderco's and Kershaws but over the years my tastes changed leaning exclusively towards Ti framelocks. I prefer quality over quantity and just have a few knives now which consist of Striders, CRK,s and a Hinderer.

I like the use of natural materials and traditional looks, so Buck knives see a lot of attention from me.

I guess I've been "collecting" knives for the past twenty years. Throughout it all, my main focus has been, and still is, the larger, single bladed, locking, pocket clipped, folders. My interest jumps between smaller (~3.5" blades), but hefty folders (5.0+ ounces), to the larger (4.0"+ blades), and hefty (6.0+ ounces) folders. I also have an interest in slipjoints, but not to the degree of the other. A few fixed blades if the design really, really strikes me.:)

3-3.5" folders with solid liner locks or midlocks typically with no finger choil, higher riding pocket clip, and usually thumbhole opening with a thick blade. Must be some level of visual appeal.

Oddly enough right now I'm edcing a manix 2, but typically something like an emerson a100 is my style.

I just bought a NIB para2 s90v...it cost me $325, but I get 10% back in ebay bucks for the IE9 promotion...that with the $8 in my paypal and that takes a $40 hit off!! :D
