Name your poison(s)!!

Natural handles, thin grinds, one-hand opening. Spyderco's Kopa and Kiwi, as well as Fallkniven's folders, have seen a lot of attention:)

I used to be nearly 100% Spyderco and they still prevail because I like Sal's business model. None of the big MFG's make me 100% satisfied but Spyderco, ZT and Kershaw have my attention the most. But I have transitioned into a desire for a notch or three above your typical high quality production knife recently so I'm buying more high end mid-tech production knives and some customs now too. I had up to 90 well regarded Spydercos and a few others at one time but with my trend toward higher end knives, the numbers have gone down considerably. Right now I have a dozen really good knives in hand with about another dozen high end production and customs on order now.

Primarily modern traditional knives such as Great Eastern Cutlery with a leavening of Spyderco and one Starbenza, because we all need one.

My top 5 would have to be:

Spyderco
Zero Tolerance
Kershaw
Buck
Victorinox

Spyderco is my all around favorite. After receiving my first Delica FFG & Endura FFG I was hopelessly hooked. I was also able to make it to the Spyderco factory around Christmas last year. Great blades, amazing customer service & fair prices... Yep, they are #1 in my book!

Also, I love my Zero Tolerance 0200, 0302 & 0350 quite dearly. I. just don't regularly carry them (way too heavy to EDC often)

Now to patiently wait for the postman to drop off my Paramilitary 2 (Camo)
Manix 2 (Tan M4)!

It seems like I'm always buying, selling, or trading a production knife in the $75 - $125 range. There's so many nice knives to be had in that category, but I mostly stick to Spyderco and Benchmade. Unlike a lot of people in this forum, I don't collect knives at all. I generally don't own more than 5-6 knives at a time. I'll buy a knife, carry it/use it/whatever and then when something catches my attention I'll sell or trade a knife and get a new one. It just makes more sense to me that way.

I will say that I have a few knives that I simply cannot part with for any reason - Sage 1, BM 585, Delica 4 FG. They aren't the nicest or most expensive knives I've owned by any means, but man do I love them so. Could never part with them.

I would say my main interest is similar to knarfeng. I love trying different steels. Companies like Spyderco, Kershaw/ZT, and Benchmade seem to produce knives with great steel choices. I would also add that I like and am getting a bit more into traditionals, thanks to this place.

I always loved my Buck 110's; still do. Got into Spyderco and I love them. Got into a few Benchmade and I love them too. Next I had an affair with Western brand fixed blades, particularly hunters made in Boulder CO. I carry Enduras regularly and Delicas sometimes and Benchmade usually 940 type sometimes. I have a few dozen medium-to-large fixed blades of various stripe, but when I bag a deer or elk then I am most comfortable with the trusty old 110.

This is kind of a hard question for me seeing as I try to appreciate all knives regardless of style but my two main areas in the knife world would have to be Busse's/Busse-kin and slipjoints/traditional knives also I've been dabbling in modern one hand "tactical" folders to some extent.

Been collecting the standard Barlow for over 30yrs (I have a few). However, I'll buy what catches my eye. I look for fit/finish/function, hell, I even bought one of those CRKT Guppies...

There are 8 cts20cp and 3 s90v para2's currently up on Ebay right now. I bought mine at $250 buy it now this morning, and since then 2 were listed at $25 cheaper...oh well...

I know that they are sprint runs but I can't bring myself to spend that much on one.

Give it time, your tastes and interests will evolve at some point. It's inevitable, the more you read about things like that here, the more the curiosity factor increases. We all started that way. I never would ahve dreamed on spending $50 on a folder.

Interesting steels, which is one of the reasons I like Spyderco's so much, and about 70% of my collection are sprint runs. I just recently got interested in traditional knives/slippies, but because I prefer edge holding in steel, I've been mostly looking at Queen because of their D2, though I just found a small run in S60V.
