Naming Knives?

EVERYONE knows when and why we have names for knives. But why would we have names for anything else???
 
It's somewhat traditional for balisong flippers to name a bali when it "bites" them. I only bothered naming one of mine (my second bali, but the first one to bite me), a Benchmade 31S. I named it Mac (the Knife).
 
I don't know, I usually refer to my benchmades by their number even though they have perfectly decent names. As an inverse, my ZT0301 is particularly annoying to identify. With all of the different model variations it's an alphabet soup. Green hog would work, but the busse posse would probably attempt a midnight deanimation!
