Napa Show

Hello All,
Two veggie knives posted today.

I remeber you Lou.

Dan,
I think that the closest we'll come to a fire is a lit cigarette in the lobby (can you still smoke in California?).
I would like to bring some fire, but this not the event for that sort of thing.

I know what your sayin', Richard. I have plenty of fun at these things talking with you guys after hours. I can forge any time.

Hope the bunch of us can sit around after show time, seeing what each other's doing.

Hello All,
The Napa Show (http://www.collectors-show.com/index.html) is fast approaching and I have a few pieces that I thought I would preview.

Here is the last blade I will finish before the show.
I call it "Star Facet"
Its forged from Nantan Metoerite which I melted and alloyed to make a high nickel steel (adding .7 carbon and iron to dilute the 6% nickel in the space rock to 2%). From there the ingot is forged into barstock and welded to layers of 1084. The weldeding continued till I had 1,600 layers and then the billet was twisted.
The spacer is of mokume and the handle is a six sided facet of African blackwood and ivory.
