Narrowed it down to 2. Which one?

You know there is only one correct answer and it is "buy both." The two knives are dramatically different such that having one cannot possibly satisfy your lust for the other. If money is an issue, please honestly think about selling a kidney:p

I love the Millie but that knife just looks horribly over-priced. I'd probably go with the Grip and put $100 back in my pocket.

That's actually a tough choice, haha. I love my Spyderco's(don't own a military though), and the only Benchmade I have is my Ritter mini Griptilian. If you haven't tried out an axis lock you'll be in for a surprise. It's definitely the easiest lock to manipulate.

My brother owns the mini version of the Benchmade you're looking at and he loves it. The G10 on those knives feel amazing. It's probably my favorite G10 out of all the production knives I've messed with.

I'll say go with the Grip. That military is a beauty, but I'd be afraid to use it like it was made to be used.

It's all up to you and what you want out of a knife. Good luck, haha.

Considering the Spyderco is out of stock, I would go for the Griptilian. IMHO it is a better knife anyway. Love the Axis Lock and don't really feel that Spyderco's frame lock is anything special.

It's funny because I've never had ether of these knives yet ether and I plan on getting them at some time. However I have small hands so I'd be going with the mini Grip or Para 3 and to tell you the honest truth I would probably try picking them both up on the exchange second hand first. Then if I couldn't do that before my knife knut urges drove me back to the Dealers I'd go with the Mini Grip and keep an eye out for the Spydie. But thats for no reason other then I too have been really looking forward to trying out the access lock :) Good luck on whichever one you pick................first ;)

The military is a long knife...and that's from somebody that thought he liked large folders. It is the longest folder I own, with the longest handle; and I rarely carry it because of that. If you've carried a Military before, and like the size, feel free to ignore the above. If you haven't, you might want to track one down to get a feel for it in hand before dropping that kind of money.
I've never owned a griptilian; though, with some of the improved options, I've been meaning to remedy that.

They're both good knives; but, as has already been said, they're very different.

Here's a comparison shot - keep in mind that the Barrage shown is slightly larger than the Grip (by approx a quarter inch)
I set them up with each end of handle as aligned as I could quickly manage, to show two perspectives.

Military is overpriced, but its gonna be THE ONE for some people. It's going to have a lot more wow factor, in style and use.

If you're looking for Axis satisfaction, I'd buy another 484-1 or 940-1 before another grip.

Curious, what did you end up buying from your last thread... I'm still waiting for the 'surprise' :D

Haha I actually bought that Grip, but it still hasn't shipped out because they're waiting on resupply, I would've ordered elsewhere but I had $10 of knifepoints. I was considering canceling the order, but after everyone's feedback I think I'll just wait for it to come in!

These will be released for sale on Wednesday May 3, 2017 at 8:00 am CST.

I say go for the LE. You can get a grip later down the road, but the LE might only increase in price.

Between those two, my vote would be for the Spyderco. However, if you were going with the regular Griptilian, I would recommend it over the Spyderco. I just don't think the upgrades justify the extra cost on the Griptilian.

Same advice I like to give others.

Pick heads for 1, tails for the other, flip a coin, and whichever one you hoped it would land on while it was in the air is the one you should get.

Obviously you simply MUST own both. Buy the one that is going to disappear / increase in price first.

Honestly, I would get standard versions of each off of the exchange first and figure out which knife you like better. That's a lot of extra change to drop on an upgraded knife if you've never owned anything like it. I'm not saying to not get the upgraded version, I'm saying that neither is coming right away and you could probably buy both, make your decision based on your own experiences, and resell them before either of these knives is ready to ship. It probably wouldn't cost you much more than shipping costs. Either way, good luck with whichever way you go.
