Full fledged HIKV has you in the grasp of its Fever. The sad part is that even HUGE Doses of Hardened Steel will only assuage it a small bit. Not until you can pass the amount of Khukuri's that John Powell has will you be able to even think about slowing down. The best thing you can do now is put a 2nd mortgage on your house and sell your kids at auction to the highest bidder and buy, Buy BUY more H.I. Khukuri's!!!!!

Don't feel bad. I've showed my khukuris to people who don't react at all (usually take a nervous step back . . . ) -- immune to HIKV. Frankly, I've found these people are mostly just not the type I get along with too well or think too much about. I'm telling you that in my book it's better to be an HIKV victim (terrible as that is) than be immune.

Jim, I don't think I'm speaking just for myself when I say that you've been a real inspiration, showing great determination resisting HIKV. Maybe you have the record for staving it off the longest.

I suppose I agree that in the long run the outcome is inevitable. But don't give up. Keep on fighting!

One ring for each finger?

I met Jim at a show a while back. He fed me this whole line of...stuff...about how HE has something called "willpower" and how people who have HIKV don't. So, in the past couple of years, I have bought five khukris. Two I gave away, and I currently have three. C'mon Jim, fess up...you've already got more than that in just the past couple of months, right?

Soooooo, who around here has real willpower? It's not that we have HIKV, we ALL have HIKV (you listening Jim?) but it's how we deal with it. How well do you resist Uncle's siren songs?

Me? I've got all the usin' khuks I need. 22" AK (the axe), Gelbu speical (the hatchet and general purpose) and the 25" Kobra (machete, etc). I'm looking for something that's really special. What's special? I'm not too sure. I'll know it when I see it. I've got another Kobra on order with some silver fittings, but that's a "wait and see if it gets here". Otherwise, my HIKV is in remission. (Of course, there's the McMillan stock and VariX III for my Savage, but that's not HIKV. I'm not sure what it is, but it's not HIKV. So there.)
