Nasty's Project Knife at MWKK04

After we were done, it fit like a glove. That hi-ride sheath turned out wonderful, Nasty and Pen!

Trevor modified his JKM-1 similarly, but with a smaller diameter choil for his slimmer fingers. I'll add his filework later, since he's local.

We could have spent a whole day or two just doing mods...wait...we did!

DIJ, I took the liberty of adding similar thumb traction to your Bilton when I got home...you'll love it! Bilton's like the khuk version of a kerambit.

Is there an official name for the thumb traction pad like there is for "Choil"?

If not, I claim it as a "NastyPad"

;-)

I've heard them calld grip pads, traction pads, thumb traction, etc-- just about anything. B-4 slick marketing, the Scotsman called the file-marks on his Sgean Dubh or dirk "jimping."

It's all filework to me, but I came up with a good symbolic name for the design we used on yours-- "Thick and thin". it alternates a thick filed grooves with thin grooves, for the knife that accompanies you thru thick and thin!

Nastypad has a good ring to it tho...:D

Good thing his name wasn't Maxi.......:D

(sorry, I bit my tongue and chewed on my fingers but couldn't help myself):D

I can see the ad now:

Uncle Nasty, do you ever have those days where you don't feel so sharp? or your grip dont feel as secure

Nasty: Sure, man, we all do. Here! Try new NastyPads!
:D
