yeah, thats the one.

big wooden mallet that would kill a brontosaurus.

great for martial artists to have around the dojo.

training with a really heavy weapon helps people to learn how to use their bodies to move correctly, instead of using their muscles to force a technique to work.

when the weapon weighs so much that there is only one possible way, the correct way, to use it, then the student learns much faster and is able to "feel" the correct movement with a smaller, lighter weapon and is that much better with it.

i remember being handed a seven foot piece of rebar and being told to use it for spear training.
suddenly, i was able to use my hips and my legs to spin and thrust that spear.
when i moved on to a wooden spear, that sucker was whistling!

Those can be VERY nasty. they are small but if they are high quality would be weighted sot hey usually hit with the point out, if thrown, and if you stab are incredibly sharp, they can be tipped with numous types of poisons, and are, as seen easily concealed, the perfect weapon for an assassin, however in the moder world are more of an interesting conversation piece, or target practice items.

I have actually driven stakes for a number of GP~whatever size with something that looked a lot like that.

Now, for some reason, the "roustabout" song from Dumbo is running through my head.
