Nate does Magnacut

I really enjoy the videos, puts everything into perspective.

From what I've read (mostly here in the forums), Magnacut seems best served in smaller, EDC type blades where edge retention stability (I meant stability), corrosion resistance, and the like are more valued. If one needs to mow down a jungle, punch through car doors, or scale rock cliffs, seems that D3V is their guy.

It kind of feels likes cheating to be interested in something other than D3V but I might risk a gander if an EDC or DEK1 (or DEK3) in MC comes available down the line.

ETA: SKINNER!

Filet knife for the salt water! I have two Magnacut Spyderco Mules and they've been performing really well in the kitchen and field for butchering.

Great point. I do feel that Magnacut would be terrific as a hunter/skinner. Skinning and boning out elk, I've seen some knives take some damage. That stability in MC will sure be appreciated in those applications.

Blood, rain, rivers/lakes/salt water, sweat, snow…. MC with CPK heat treatment in a great kydex sheath sounds like a great EDC or outdoors knife for so many situations (when cutting through chains isn’t on the agenda).

I think it is awesome to have choices, and if you need a winter tester for an EDC, I am sure I could fit it into my schedule🤣
