Nate's high concentration diamond shmoo (stropping compound)

Some of the bottles have been great some have been not so great and some have been terrible.

I've been struggling to find a sprayer bottle that works well for this consistently.

I can't try them out before I ship them, because I might just make it worse

I had one that I've been using in production for a while that I finally wore out and replaced yesterday. The replacement wasn't worth a crap so grabbed another one and it's not great either.

If anybody needs more sprayers let me know

Thanks. I’ll try a few different bottles from Amazon, including the glitter sprayer, and let you know what works. And if you find something that works first, I’d be happy to take a couple then. I was worried I was just retarded or something 🤔 😬

Prediction…… Nathan’s going to (or somebody) have a glitter bomb spray bottle at the gathering and there’s going to be some that wind up with glitter all over them. 🤣 yoko yoko might have opened a metaphorical can of worms 🪱 🐛

Hopefully they’ll find some spray bottles that work better for his shmoo (that word makes me feel gross every time I type it… especially “Nathan’s Shmoo”) 😳
 
 
I know everyone has them as spray bottles, but does it need to be a spray bottle ? If you smear it around with your finger or paint brush couldn’t you use like tsa size bottle with a push pull top like dawn soap. Even a flip top that we can drip it on the strop then smear it . I know with a couple other brands of strop material I have I get the shit all over it seems besides the strop.

Absolutely, you can drip it out and smear it out. It still works.

But it works much better if you spray it. It builds a friable structured abrasive that breaks down and exposes fresh diamond grit as you use it which makes it work very quickly with low heat.


But yeah, you can just drip it out and smear it out like other compounds. It still works, it's just not as good as it can be if you spray it
 
It needs to come out as a mist to create the structure that I want on my strop

The answer may be, it might just need to be cut with more isopropyl alcohol to work more reliably with more sprayers.

I guess I should’ve said something when I looked at the listing for it; it looked to me, like it was specifically designed for spraying dry glitter/powder/flakes, which typically requires some differences from things designed to spray liquids (but I guess the only way to see, is to try it).

I looked at it for a while and couldn’t really understand the mechanics of how it worked . Then decided to buy it for $7 and give it a try . Amazon conditioning . 🤷🏻‍♂️
