I posed the question of when the cheaper Native 4 was going to be released in the general section and haven't gotten a response so I'm hoping for better luck here. I won't be purchasing the limited run carbon fiber edition but will definately be purchasing the cheaper version when it hits the market. So, when will the cheaper FRN version be released? The economy is forcing me to tighten the belt but this new native looks like a necessity to me! Still hoping for S30V and G10 but I will be purchasing whatever Sal decides on. The PE Native 3 is my all around favorite EDC and this pics of the Native 4 look awesome.

Same here; I just can't purchase a $150+ knife at this time. I'd be interested in a more budget-friendly FRN version.

I just approved of the first production article today. Shouldn't be too long now.

While the Native4 is a regular production piece, it is a limited production due to the capacity of this particular maker. It is also the pilot for the new FRN model that we'll be making in Golden.

Sounds like you may have seen it too. Based on that, I'd guess we'll be lucky to see the CF version available for sale before the New Year. It also makes me think the less expensive version will be FRN, at least to start. More to the point, it makes me think production of that version is still a good ways off. Which is to say I'd be more surprised if the FRN Native IV is available this time next year than if it is not.

I could, however, be wrong. Wouldn't be the first time.
