Native 5 LW choices

YMMV, but S110V seems chippy to me, albeit my experience is with a single knife. I prefer S35VN. If you really like the aesthetics of the burple, then I say go for it (that's why my PM2 is S110v). For me anyway, the blade steel is not really an upgrade.

The Native 5 LW is a great knife, btw. I gifted mine, and will probably have to pick up a replacement for myself at some point.

I have the N5 LW in S110V and it was my most carried knife for quite a while. I really like the the finish on the blade. It's different from the S35VN version, and prettier IMO. The blue FRN is nice too. As for the steel, I like that it really resists scratching--blade stays like new in my use which I enjoy. My HAP40 Delica and Endura are cosmetically not so nice after a year of use. I find that a weekly (sometimes even bi weekly) 100 passes on the Sharpmaker brown rods keep the S110V as sharp as I need it to be. All in all it's a super easy knife to maintain and it looks great. Still, I would rather have the Maxamet version and when that becomes available it will probably replace my S110V N5.

I have been carrying my N5 LW every day since I got it about a month ago. Other work rotation knives have seen no love.

I wear jeans or pants with watch pocket over 90% of the time. It fits the watch pocket quite well. No clip; just a short lanyard. Stays in there better than any other knife I tried carry like that. Perfect for work. Sometimes I have it in there even if I carry a different knife at the same time. I forget it is there much of the time.

These days, definitely the most used blade for me. I too am contemplating trying a different steel in this great knife, and sticking with FRN.

Can any1 make an educated guess when in 2017 we could expect Maxamet Native 5 LW? Please explain that guess?

You didn't get yours yet?
