Native 5 LW Question

Just broke down and ordered the forum knife. You are all very, very evil. Of course my 25% code did not work since it is an already reduced item, but once I had it in my cart.....You all probably knew that and just refrained from telling me so that I would capitulate.

Congrats Mr. Underhill!! :p

I've had the forum Native lw since it came out and carry it daily. It's about 50/50 whether it will be clipped or pocketed at any given time, but I haven't noticed any pocket wear. I've noticed plenty caused by my larger g-10 knives, and those only get carried on weekends and outside of work. I'd say my cf Chaparral is probably the least likely of my Spydies to do any damage, but I also can't say I've noticed any significant pocket wear from frn handles (Native, UKPKs, Caly Jrs) ...but as full disclosure I do pocket carry them a lot and I'm not exactly pulling them out to use a ton at my desk job, usually just at lunch or to open mail.

The n5 is so compact I sometimes just stuff it in my pocket in haste.

I got the dlc coated one and only just started carrying it, it's wearing quite well. But it's definitely compact enough to just throw in your pocket. Sometimes I have to if I'm doing housework as that clip does fit pretty tight.

The clip is pretty tight on mine, I almost have to force it over the edge of my pocket. Fine with jeans, but not that great with more fragile fabrics.

I sanded the high points off the pattern under the clip - it is better now, though still hard on the pockets.

I took an diamond sharpening stone to the g10 of my native on the clip side. It has made a big difference. It slips in and out more easily and you can tell by the noise it makes that it is wearing less on the fabric. As far as the grip goes, it is still more than grippy enough for my edc needs.
