Strictly speeking, like Para 2 and Manix versions, I don't think the blade is clad... Spyderco uses the term "composite". The process involves, as I recall, Crucible begining with a plate of CPM S90V and then the voided areas on either side of the plate are filled with CPM 154 powder. Then something to do with a vibratory table and a vacuum process. "Where many layered steels are produced by heating plates and then sandwiching the steels together, this process uses specialized equipment and welding techniques commonly featured in the manufacture of aircraft parts where steels are held to rigorous specifications to avoid structural failure." ( This quote came off the Spyderco Forum ).
I will say, this Native is a unique "homage" to the original....built with the very latest technology and all "spiffed" out. It really showcases a unique collaboration between two manufacturers, Spyderco and Crucible, at the top of there game!
