Hey guys,
I am looking for a knife, that I can turn into a Native American style knife for Regalia (Native American clothes), I am currently looking at a BK-16/17. Stripped, blued and given wood grips, and a leather sheath, I am open to suggestions for other knives. Whatever I get will need to be blued, does anyone on here strip and blue knives? If so, how much?

Thank You

Yeah the BK-5 and BK-15 are very much like modern versions of the old historical "roach belly" trade knives.

They're my favorites.

Bk5 or 15 would get my vote. I haven't sen that project in a while Silverthorn. One of the best mods of a 15 I've ever seen. Beauty.

I did a similar modification to a 15 and it came out great! The 15 takes well to a classic look, these pics were pre-polish on the scales

Those are beautiful! a 5 or 15 would definitely get my vote! Beautiful lines and tough as nails!

wow, those are the two sweetest lookin 15's ive ever seen. Love the scales and the finishes on both.

Look around for Cold Steel's Red River knives, which replicated several authentic historic patterns. They're no longer in production but you should be able to find one. I re-handled several as gifts and keep the elk skinner model in our picnic kit. They're all Carbon V steel, excellent cutters.
