Native CF

I got my Native 4 in the mail today, this is a great knife....I have one complaint though, no wire pocket clip, why would spyderco not put a wire clip on such a sweet knife?
 
Because 4-way clips are better? :p I myself am not a big fan of the wire clips, but I'm sure you could get it converted if you really wanted to.

My guess, it would raise the price and lower the versatility of the knife. Those are two things Spyderco doesn't like to do. Spyderco appears to be standardizing their clips. The Native IV uses the same 4-way clip that the Delica/Endura 4 uses. Also, the wire clip, to my knowledge, precludes switching between tip-up and tip-down carry.;)

I would also significantly prefer the deep pocket carry wire clip like on the Caly III.

The deep pocket carry wire clip has become my favorite clip.
 
I also prefer deep carry wire clip, but Native4 is such a great knife, that I do not care what kind of clip it has. I have my Native4 for couple weeks and I am getting second, also when Spyderco will make FRN/S30v I will buy one or two.
 
I imagine it's to offer users a choice. The Caly 3 and the Sage are both about the same size as the Native IV, and both have wire clips. In one sense I don't care, since I take the clip off anyway. In another sense, I'm happy they used the three screw. The wire clip models lack a lanyard hole, a feature I find at least occasionally useful.

When I saw the new Native in CF in the 2009 catalog, I literally jumped out of my seat and threw my hands in the air. In fact, I went into this forum to make a thread about it, seems you beat me to it. It's really funny actually because I had just posted a thread about how i didnt like frn but i loved my native and then i see this, it's like sal heard my cry for a CF native....ok, not really, but it made me happy. I can see myself buying quite a few spyderco's this year :)
 
Im also having a problem with the clip screws it seems they are alittle to short to hold the clip on properly....bummer....Im kind of mad now I have to get new clip screws.
