Native SS AUS-10 or VG-10????

How come all the Native Stainless that I've seen (in the internet/online) are AUS-10 steel but my Native Stainless is VG-10 (made in Seki-Japan)? I'm just curious. Thanks for any info. (I've use the search the forum too for answer but found none).

Because Spyderco wanted to give folks an opportunity to try a knife in AUS-10 and the all stainless Native was elected to serve that purpose.

They started out as AUS-10, for the reasons the Deacon mentioned, but was eventually switched to VG-10.
