A good friend of mine has just acquired his first Busse, a Natural Outlaw. We have been discussing INFI and Busse Combat.

Our most recent conversation was about which was a more versatile blade length the NO or SH. I am at a disadvantage being I own both. I can pick up either one at will.

The only advantage I really see the NO has over the SH is weight and compactness; but, the SH has better chopping ability. Basically I feel that any knife is a personal choice with specific uses to each owner.

I was curious how our fellow forumites and Busse owners felt about this difference of an inch and a half between models. Both of which I like.

Boy, choosing between a NO and an SHII is a tough call. Assuming that most of us use these as wilderness utility type knives, I think your exactly right in acknowledging that the amount of chopping a person plans to do is perhaps the single most important consideration when making this choice.

It might be interesting to have someone with access to both models do a little unscientific testing and give us some idea of the average number of chops required with each knife to chop through a similar material.

As much as I love the neutral balance and feel of the Natural Outlaw (the best way I can explain how it feels is that it has a "run through the prairie naked" feel

, the Steel Heart still excels at chopping.
