Natures knives!

Wow those are some awesome pics, have you had them used by any magazines ?

Thanks allot guys..I've sold a few to a few publications and organizations. I do it mainly for fun. I'm not averse to selling the occasional picture if someone emails me wanting to use one for a book, article, papmplet, etc. It helps me pay for equipment and knives..

I'd love to know how you got such a good shot of the Harris' Hawk. Fantastic pic.

I was walking through the south texas brush looking for reptiles to photo (Caon 40D and 70-200L) and came upon the harris hawk sitting on a mesquite about 25 feet away. I guess I surprised him because when he turned and saw me, he took off to my three o'clock and luckily I had my camera on AI and multi shot. So I snapped off a few. simple right?

Timing is everything. I've never been able to get that clarity. You have your timing down and camera set right.
Great pics.

Jason,

Great work! Those photos are a real pleasure to look at. You should be proud!!
As a lifetime Nikon nut, I was bummed to see you're a Canon guy... ;)

Stay sharp,

I was a Nikon Guy in College but that was just a phase

I like both Nikon and Canon but I just ended up with Canon gear. I had a whole slew of Nikon lenses and an FM2 that made a little money on the side for me in school.

As a student, I always liked Nikon stuff, but could never afford it. When I was young, I enlisted in the Navy as a Journalist. Uncle Salty taught me photography on the Canon F1. But at my first duty station, I was given a Nikon F2 to work with.

After the Navy, I started buying Nikon gear and never looked back. I could have just as easily bought Canon stuff (but I'm glad I didn't... all my Nikkor glass still works with my latest Nikon digital body. Canon left their fans holding obsolete lenses more than once!).

Anyway, Canon, Nikon... it's all good!

Nikon F2S, F3HP, F4s (x2), D70, and lots of glass!

When I first read the topic on this thread, I was expecting to see photos of flint napped knives and sharpened sticks.

I was pleasantly surprised to find these great wildlife pictures.

Some great images my friend.
