I used to be the same way. But with the flippers, I can work them as well or better (quicker) carrying tip up. If I have to use the thumb-studs, then I can open better carrying tip-down; however, for commonality, I now carry everything tip-up, after catching myself trying to manipulate a knife incorrectly because I had been going back and forth between tip-up and tip-down knives. Plus, if a knife only has one way of carrying (isn't switchable), most of the time it is tip-up. With few exceptions. In a pinch or emergency, I'd rather have commonality across my knives.

I think it is a visual aesthetic thing with the 0302. The clip hole placement in tip up carry leaves you with the butt end sticking up in your pocket. It also isn't well concealed, but you see the clip either way, and the more exposed jimping at the butt might bother some people if they are reaching in along side in tip up. For the show it probably just looks nicer tip down and the prop guy doesn't have to switch the clip.

A few of the super heavy duty knives I have are designed similarly. To me at appears they were designed to be carried in a sheath on a chest rig where drawing as tip down is easier and your primary is a firearm with the knife a possibly a last resort backup after you've gone from rifle to pistol already.

Just switched one of my ZT0301s & my G10 Leek to tip up to try for a while...
