NE khuk. konvention:Lots of rain, lobster and STEEL!!

Here's one titled "one Whack". This is ArchA.'s 25" Sirupati that I am holding after cutting through the tree shown like it was made out of butter!! Cutting with the big siru was effortless!

here's my sister-in-law Sara with Akabu's BAS. She got cutting lessons from Akabu and really had fun too:)

Here's a closer in shot of some of Arch's blades--NICE!!

That's the YCS on the left that my 2yr old daughter was obsessed with:D

And here's one Russ titled "almost thru" which is self explanatory. What is not explanained is what caused me to look up in the tree with that bizarre expression on my face. Looks like the face they made in the movie "Predator" when they spot the creature in the trees don't it?;) :o

Ah, that Predator would have been out bladed by us on that day.;) I am sure we could have had him in a good cross cut action.:D

Wouldn't the pieces just self generate into original configuration? But then you'd have more to chop.

Here's another pic of ArchAngel and his 25" Sirupati. Arch is 6'4" tall and makes the sirupati look normal sized--but its HUGE!

GREAT PICTURES!!! Rob, you live in a khuk using paradise!!! You could chop all day and not make a dent in that growth!!! I wish I lived there, I'd have fun everyday!!!:D Thanks for sharing the pictures!!!:)

Thank Russ for the pics:) There's a pretty good amount of chopping fodder around my property--and, as the other guys will tell you, lots and lots of blue spruce, which is miserable stuff (and painful!!)to chop. My brother's house just down the road is a real chopping paradise as half his property is woods, and woods run on for a mile or two beyond that!! WIsh you could have made it Chris, but I'm sure I'll meet you at one of these Konventions:)

Yeah! We'll hook up at one of these! Maybe if Uncle plans one for next year and everyone has plenty of notice we could make plans for it and it could be the mother of all conventions!!!:D

These are my khukuris:

Nephew it seems like I've seen that center one with the karda and chakma on the front. Didn't Terry make that sheath?

Great Pics all!!!!!!!
That looks like a real tangle alright. One of my old bud's told the story of how he penetrated an extremely large willow grove in the wilds of Colorado once by carefully threading his and his flyrod way through by using the game trails that lead to a really nice beaver pond with beautiful wild trout. He was so busy concentrating at one point getting himself untangled that he couldn't understand what was grunting at him until he looked up and discovered his flyrod tip was aggravating a black bear around the nose and eyes.
He said it was amazing that the flyrod didn't get tangled up and broken on the way out as care went out the window and he ran out the way he had threaded his way in.
He also figured the bear must've ran the other way, perhaps because of the scent he left, as it never came out on his side.:)

The guys here could've went out in what I call the back 40, but you couldn't get 'em away from the grill and cooler long enough.

good eye Edutsi:) Yep that's a terry sisco custom, and my favorite khuk to grab when there's real work to do because of the sheath! It lies flat on the leg, has a leg tie that you can't see in the pic, and a snap keeper for the handle to keep the khuk from banging around or falling out:) I'm really glad I got one before he closed down. But I really wish I'd had one done for my 15" AK...maybe I'll have another leather guy do one, one of these days.

Rob:

I see the Chitlangi in your line-up. (21"?) Where's the Malla? Did it get much of a workout?

S.

:) Looks like it was a fun day.

Great pics. You guys make all the khuks look small. It's good to know what some of the other forumites look like. I usually assume they look like me. Except for Mauirob. He looks nothing like the clump of seaweed that I thought he was :D

Wish to thank Rob and his wife for a great time and great food! It was a pleasure to meet some of the nephew's,it's a great family! We viewed and handled similar Khukuries and we found new favorites! I have not really posted any report's on my Khukuries. So here goes : I took only two out to the field to test.Suripati 18 inch ,worked out real well, did'nt try to chop any heavy stuff, looking more for finess,Excellent!! it took off the tip's of bud's with just a flick of the wrist.Did not do bad ethier when I went after a two inch sapling, just let it drop and it went half way through! Did the same with Sanu's BAS the flick and the bud's were gone! But it turned out to to be a better chopper for me than the Sirupati, more control. It's also the one that Mauirobs sister in law is usein. She did very good it only took about fifteen min. or less of instruction for her to chop down a two inch sapling on her own.Maybe we infected her with HIKV!:D
