A handguard on any of the Nealy's would not be what Bud Nealy had in mind.
He designed them to be quick access,hideout blades,and a guard would add to the "bulk",and possibly hinder a quickdraw.
IME,the finger groove is a decent stop,and holds up well during thrusting tests.It is a great knife.
