Near Mint Pre-War(?) Plumb Belt Axe Find

Here are my thoughts on using it, as I've had this discussion regarding fountain pens in my other collecting circle. Yes, it is a utilitarian tool that was originally intended to be used. So were the many thousands of others sold during the same time period. Since there are so many well-used ones out there, why not let this one have a rest? An object (in this case an axe) does not have a destiny to be used.

That's a beauty. Here are my thoughts on using it since it was brought up. There are not many left from the 1940's and plenty of collectors would pay or trade enough to get at least two or three or more nice users. On the other hand many of us pay $150 for a new Swedish axe and use it right away. I would hate to see that decal get rubbed off. I have a couple near new vintage axes I've used. I'm just so careful with them that it's not fun.
I think there's lots left out there from the Depression era and the 40s but NOS versions have got to be scarce as hen's teeth. Folks didn't specifically collect tools back then either.
