Nearing completion: 15" Large Chopper

Nope not too much forging lately. I did a nice little blacksmith knife with a hamon that ill be selling in the next few weeks, but beyond that Ive only recently got significant shop time so have focused on stock removal as its easier to do in short spurts than firing up the forge. I hope to get my burner beefed up with forced air and then will be getting into making damascus as Im really interested in the pattern creation aspect of it.

I have to resurrect this thread as I've now received this much-anticipated beast and am pretty much reduced to giggling schoolgirl levels when I hold it. This is one of those situations where every single progress picture I received rose my expectations, and yet they were all more than exceeded once the big box got to my house. Not a clumsy knife at all but very front-heavy, so I'll certainly be employing a lanyard to keep it from becoming a projectile after those more eager swings at big branches.

Thanks very much, David---was absolutely worth the wait. :)

 Glad you like it! I was sad to see it go, as the order transistioned with me in my move from MA to NH, my downtime when I wasn't making, and was the first knife I finished once I got back in action....it became a fixture in my home.

My fiancee, however, was ready to buy it herself just to get it out of her sight, haha!
