This is pretty neat. It would be just the thing for my Shango.

Foilist,

Thanks. That design started out as a "necker" but a little more light-weight than the one pictured but now I mount what I call my "Pouch-Sheath" to everything..... molle-loks, tek-loks, belt-loops, etc. It's pretty neat cause you can have one "necker" sheath and use it so many different ways.

War-belt (2") setup:

Getting "copied" now but also on the BK fam:

With my "Baldric Rig" adapter plate (mounts to lg. Tek-Lok):

Not to derail the thread but it's all based off of the same "necker" in the other pictures and can be used back and forth as needed. I even have a machete sheath that I can mount more than one on.

Man I really like this setup. What knife is that? Also, is that the Pouch-Sheath with ESEE-Accessory pouch, mounted to the Drop-Belt Loop?

Yep! It'll mount to pretty much everything but in that drop belt-loop it almost disappears. And it is a four:thumbup: The four is too big for neck-carry though.

Here's my neck kit I'm working on. I need to add some cordage and flashlight though.
It all fits in the pouch that the micro mirror came in. I punched holes to run bead chain through the pouch. Bead chain is covered in 550 cord shell. If I ever get my hands on some orange 550, I'll change it.

* Micro signal mirror from countrycomm
* Split Pea Peanut lighter from countrycomm
* Fox 40 whistle
* Dog tags to identify my body...

Can't neck carry the knife though (considered a concealed weapon in CA), so I just carry it on my belt. Either way, all the essentials are on my person if my backpack fell off a cliff or took a float down a river.
This pouch is so small, it would be super easy to strap a neck knife to it.

I'm not trying to hijack this thread, because I'll save this post for when I actually get my new sheath and can post my neck knife kit picture. I have a question though.

I've always known about ranger bands and all that, but I've never really had a use for them till lately. Everyone says they are nothing but bike inner tubes or whatever. Well, I went to WallyWorld the other day and picked up a 27" bike tube. I cut a few pieces and tried them on some stuff. I don't think mine is capable of stretching like all the ones I see, like on these neck knives. Did I get the wrong kind or something? I'm lucky to get it to stretch maybe...4 inches wide, and at the point it is -very- tight. Probably enough to bend one of these sheaths. Am I just not giving it time to stretch out or did I get the wrong kind of tube? It was just a generic 27" bike tube. A little over an inch wide. Thanks guys.

((Will post picture soon.))

Cut them thinner if you want them to stretch more. The wider they are, the hard it is to get them around stuff. Also, you can get different sized tubes. There are skinny ones for rode bikes, and big ones for 1.5" wide mountain bike tires.

Go to your local bike shop and ask them for an assortment of garbage inner tubes. You know the ones they replaced because they were flat. They will give them to you for free, as much as you can handle.
