Neck knife question

115W8 aka 1.2442 IIRC. 1.15% carbon, 1.9% tungsten, like .3-.4 manganese, maybe .3 chromium. I will also have enough spare AEB-L to make 3 or 4 more.
Can you give me any information about the composition of this steel. Google isn't doing it for me. It even tried to give me W8 which it isn't I assume? It sounds like an interesting steel.

Thanks,

Joe

I would keep it a 3" blade length, with maybe a 3,5" handle. Further, I'd keep it under 3mm thickness since the usual tasks for such a knife aren't too demanding.
That way you could keep the weight down, nobody wants a boat anchor around their neck.
1" width sounds good, but I'd prefer a FFG, combined with thin stock it'll make a wicked slicer

I will likely go with a FFG or maybe even a 3 foot or 6 foot diameter "big wheel" hollow grind if the mood strikes me. :D

3 inches max. with 3.5" handles. A good thought in design would keep it confortable for most hands sizes. (rounded butt as Izula and Candiru do it).
The main sugestion is keep the point low, as a belly only shortens cutting edge uses, in my daily urban tasks. Spear point max or preferably almost wharncliff, as the Insingo, are my choices.
