For the purpose of a neck knife (ala Dozier Canoe) which of the following steels would you be willing to pay a $40 premium for over say AEB-L or 154 CM, and why?

For me none of them as 154cm is perfectly fine for me. However if I had to chose I would like to try CPM-20CV and 52100.

For the record CPM 154 is a little more premium than regular old 154CM. Either way 154 CM is a nice steel, and from a knife maker standpoint very easy to work with. S90V is an absolute bear to grind (I grind the steel hardened). I am looking to do a run of neck knives and a few hunters and want to use a premium steel, but am torn as to which one to go with. Since I will likely sell several of them on here I wanted to get a sense of what is most desirable in that context. I think it will also be interesting in general to see what people like these days.

So far I am not surprised to see S90V rising to the top.
