I'm looking for a quality neck knife, but I don't want to spend hundreds of dollars on one. Does anyone know of any quality lower cost neck knives?

Although I haven't personally handled one, I'd try one of these:

If the quality is the same as the other Japanese Hitachi steel knives AG sells, you won't be disappointed.

If you're looking for even less expensive, the AG Russell Hunter's Scalpel comes witha neck lanyard and quick release sheath, $20.

I'm sure other forum readers will have other suggestions too. Best Luck in your search.

My own is a Benchmade Tether 160, PE. Green handles, kydex sheath, without the "tactical black" coating. It's an older GIN-1 model, as the current ones come in 440C.

I like the almost-sheepsfoot blade for utility purposes, and the handle ergonomics are very comfortable.

Not my EDC but I wear it whenever I am in a situation where I have say, jogging pants or sweat pants on.

The Fallkniven WM1 is a very useful necker, it' amasingly versatile compared to its size.

It's VERY easy to find this out yourself. Go to any any knife retailer or eBay and find the search button and then type neck.

for custom, I'd go with Chase Axinn. Makes great knives at FAR too low a price for what you get. Look him up! For production, I'd say an EKI Griffe for defense, for utility, why not an AG Russell Woodswalker in a kydex sheath?

Sincerely,
Anthony

I have a Fallkniven Garm G1 fighter, that I absolutely LOVE!! I have had many a neck knife, and this one is perfect for me!!! It is so comfy to wear!!

Was wearing my stainless spydie police, got my boot rig yesterday for it though... back to my stainless spydie dragonfly... both with kydex from os/t.

No one said the Becker neck knife yet? fine then, i will :p

I'd also say CRKT (F4, Falcon, Bear claw) but i haven't been keeping up on CRKT latley. So i don't know if they're using lesser-steels on the neck knives or whatever...bah...

Another vote for the Becker Necker here.

It's a nice, solid blade, larger and more robust than something like the CRKT F4 (although that's a nice blade too!), and the design is comfortable in the hand. Good sheath too; the total package is long but thin. I've been EDCing this knife on and off for a few months now, and I'm a big fan. The only thing it needs, in my opinion, is a set of thumb serrations to improve the grip.

All the best,

Mike

The Becker is great, also see the Spyderco SPOT, SOG Outline, and A.G. Russell Woodswalker. and Benchmade Tether. All off these will fall into the $20 to $50 range.

yep the arc lite is pretty good for ~ $20, also like the livesay woo but they are hard to find now, used to could get them for $25 or so though.

also bud nealys stuff is cool really like my amoeba, kinda pricey though.

no one mention the swamprat rattail. Great knife with a greater warranty. :)

Busse Combat has just unveiled new knife in "neck size" - Skeleton Key - but you would have to spend 100$ and you would have to hurry.

I forgot to mention the Camillus Arclite. Very affordable, excellent design, cord-wrappable.

Agree, the $20 420HC version is quite usable. For better quallity steel, AG Russell sells the exact same knife in D-2 for about $50.
