neck knifes?

Currently I am wearing the Fallkniven WM-1/3G but I often switch off between the Fehrman Thru Hiker. The Thru Hiker is a bit heavy but it does not take long to get used to it. What I like about neck knives is that no matter what you are doing and come to a point where you need a knife then...there it is waiting for you hand to grasp it.

I will probably always carry a neck knife of one kind or another.

Coincidentally, I just received my Dozier Companion with neck and belt sheaths. I got the neck sheath for backpacking - no belt to attach a sheath to as a belt would chafe under the pack belt. And the pack belt is much too thick to attach a sheath to it.

I have three on the knives mentioned so far. BK11 is too big. Hartsook is a really neat knife, I wish it were a little bigger, but it can easy be worn and hidden. The Woods Walker is a great value. I don't have a kydex sheath for neck wear, but would wear it outside my shirt like you see Bushcraftmen wear a patch/neck knife.

The BK11 if you can find one, has the most utility. I love this knife. The others would require another knife for bigger chores. I however wear the Woods Walker the most.

Simonich Bitteroot 1.7" blade
Simonich Crowfoot 3" blade
Two amazing knives
I carry both all the time

get your self a mora clipper and 2 plus feed para cord and there you go you can clip it around your neck or to your pocket there aroun 12 dollers i have a ss model as well the carbon i blued it there great lite and if you do loos it there inexpensive top notch imho

I just purchased 2 neck knives from CRKT.

The Crawford Falcon is awesome and it could be had for 16 bucks. I also got the ABC Hammond, it is a little big for city carry but fine for a hike. I like a cross body hang rather than a standard neck hang. I loop paracord over my head and one arm. The knife sits just under my left arm. It is a perfect- comfortable-concealable-accessible place for me.

I've never been able to figure out why anyone would carry a neck knife unless you were in a combat situation.

Most HAK users in uniform have to put the sheath external on the combat vest, outside the armor, or there is no getting to it.

I see a lot of users who like them - and backpacking comes as the first good idea I've heard - but for EDC at work, etc. it's less than easy under any garments. For SD - I've never heard anyone claim it was a good idea. It doesn't work for me in uniform or out.

I doubt many can wear them out unless they have a sympathetic owner/supervisor. If you can, enjoy!

Kayaking or canoing where it would be hard to get to a pocket or belt knife?
