Neck knives!!!!

I bought a mini talon about 3 weeks ago and I have only taken it off when I go to sleep. I never was much for neck knives before but I wanted to try talonite and this was about the cheapest I could find. I LOVE this knife. I've had trouble with rust on a couple of my BM's with ATS34 (I've since been much more careful about maintaining them) so having a EDC knife that is virtually maintenance free is fantastic. Given that a neck knife is more subjected to body sweat I thought this was an important factor.

I bought an Arclite and had BF's Taz put some G10 scales on it. I plan to get one in D2 pretty soon and have him put some longer scales on.

MY 2 favorite "neck knives" are my Camillus Cuda CQB-2, and my REKAT Hobbit Fang.:).

Whew.......

I just bought a REKAT FANG yesterday and as I read through all these posts I didn't see it mentioned once until I read Glockmans post. I was starting to get nervous, thinking I bought a dud. I thought it looked very nice, I hope I'm gonna like it.

Thanks to NC BLADES!

I have two that I like a T L Hearn wharncliffe and a neil blackwood smallgame. both are light handy and really useful blade design.

Dude ~ The camillus ARC-LITE is an excellent neck knife!

Great value for money and highly practical in the field. I barter-traded this knife to a native cheiftain in Borneo during my expedition to the Kalimantan border.. :D

in Tac Knives recently, there was an article on neckers, and I'd vote for the wilson (yes, THAT wilson) tactical, but I can't find it for sale anywhere... I'll try and see if I can scan it in..

It may be earlier than the summer, Rifter :) Got everything on order, the Ti, the taps and clearance drill to attach the Ti handles, damascus is sitting here to be ground this weekend, out to Ed Caffrey for HT, then Terry Hearn for bluing :)

I really like the Livesay neckers. I have a vatiety of them and they are outstanding in quality and very reasonable in price. Not pretty, but very effective and cost-effective bladeware for serious use.

check out the Hideaway knives. there are several blade shapes and steels. the retainability of this knife is great. i have one sheath attached to my whitewater PFD and one for my neck. you can actually paddle, tie knots, use your hands for anything and still hang onto this knife.pkv

I believe the CS spikes use 1/4" also.....you have 3 bladestyles....about $25
Timberline Mini Pit Bull............$29 est.

I have a couple of Becker Necker and they are great knives. Used one to skin a few deer with this season, which is a handy use for a neck, always there when you need it. No need to hustle up a skinning knife.

There are several pics of pimped out Neckers floating around, even one with a powder coated handle that is sweet.

Plus for $30 it can be lost and replaced without much heartbreak.

Gonna hafta praise the HAK as well. I wouldn't carry anything else around my neck. I think I'm at 4 of them now, stashed in pockets and everywhere...
