Anybody carry a neck knife? I have a HAK claw but I am looking for a necker more like the native americans carry. Maybe a custom leather sheath with quillwork. Been looking at Blind Horse knives and some Barkies. What do you carry and why.Pics would be great.

I carry a RAT Cutlery Izul... because it's the best. Seriously though, it is the most comfortable, perfect size, best grind, best warranty, from a great company neck knife I have ever found. If you carry one and play with one for a week, you'll start wondering if your other knives fell out of your pocket somewhere along the way. Then you'll realize that you just left them at home. It's that good.

The Izula

This one is mine.

Matt of ML knives makes some old-timey stuff, so maybe look into some of his stuff. SDS here on the forums has made some old style knives that remind me of indian stuff, so maybe shoot him an e-mail (he also has his own forum in the makers section).

I carry the small tiger knapp from blind horse, I like it, I'll post pics up sometime......

I carry an Izula, but don't wear it as a necker. It goes in my right front pocket, looped to my belt. :)

+1 on Matt of ML Knives.

Here are some Neckers made by him. For a more traditional old timey look and feel it is hard to be Matts work. Plus he is great to work with.

Here are a few of Stomper's Neck Knives, and two made by Koyote. Both in the maker's forum.

If you are interested in carrying a 4" blade or thereabouts, pay real close attention to weight.

This is my Livesay NRGS. I have done alot with this knife, even skinned a lynx with it. I have it set up as a PSK with a rubber sleeve around the sheath and some other resources tucked inside. Mac

I have owned a few. I only own two now, a Becker/Kabar BK11 and one from JK Handmade Knives (Stomper).

The BK11 only rides on my belt as I find it large for carry around my neck. The tiny little mini-nessmuck from John is on my neck right now.

Sweet little back-up blade at only 4 1/8" long.
