Don't worry there Dann,.....i'm working on a simple breakaway neck carry device that will work with any folder with a lanyard hole.........
Not worrying about protecting a patent,.....as i don't expect anyone will get rich with this, because anyone of modest mechanical ability can rig one up themselves.
The idea is this:
Use any suitable weight cord to hold the weight of the knife to carry safely,.....at least 25-35 lb weight test. I have a round black soft nylon cord i've been using for an eyeloupe neckcarry, so i'll probably use this.
Attach a small piece of around 15 to 20 pound monofilament fishing line to the knife laynard hole,.....and leave a few inches extra to work with. You're going to want to feed the extra length of the fishing line THRU the knot you make when you connected the heavier main carry cord to form a "necklace".
If using a black round cord or something similiar,.....rig it to the length you wish the knife to lay at,......considering the knife closed length itself. I'm going to make mine so that the knife ends up near my belt waistband, as i wear polo shirts mostly with no buttons. I want to be able to quickly lift up my shirt to get at the knife if i need it!
Feed the piece of monofiliment fishing line thru the knot in the main cord (you may need to use a needle to make a channel to get it in),......but you want it as tight as you can,..... so don't go crazy with the hole.
After you get the mono thru,.....pull it up as tight as you can and make a few knots in the end of the monofiliment. Cut the excess mono off,.....leaving a few millimeters of mono left.......followed by a quick touch of a lighter or match to melt a "ball" over the knot you just made in the mono. This should keep the mono from unraveling in use.
And you now should be ably to wear your neck knife safely under your shirt, available to you with just a strong tug to pull the balled mono thru the main cord.
Being a jeweler i may make a more hi-tec version for myself, using gold tubing or wire, and attach it to a gold chain.
But this simple cord rig should safely hold the modest weight of even the mighty ZT 0200!
BTW,.....you'll have to re-attach a new pull cord every time you "yank it".
Future projects will include a cord that has a section that opens up to remove the balled mono section attached to the knife itself.
It's a shame that they don't make 'em to fit my ZT 0200.
