NECKA Hammer in!

I was with you in spirit too George. You have no idea how much I would have liked to be there.
Mark, still thinking about being self employed. This is what you DON"T get to do when you are self employed.

Sounds like you put on a real show George.

Dear IG & All NECKA Hammer-in Guys,

I really really appreciate being able to meet you all and learn so much. IG, thanks for hosting and all the lessons. I am very grateful to Blacksmith Paul for teaching me how to hammer on steel. Thanks Mace for the 5160 and the quench tips, and Jerry and Paul and Larry and Rene and John and Dan and
everyone who was there. I have the info on a couple of scrapyards here in Bridgeport, CT and will be scrounging for some steel, a hunk of RR track and some iron pipe ASAP. I am thinking about handles for my first knife and my file scimter and will post pics when I finish.

Thank you for the fellowship and the lessons. I am hooked!!!!

Pete Don or what ever your name hahaha

I learned after about 15 years of being self employed, if the boss won't give you the time off, you just have to take it. ;) one good day of life is worth
a bad week of work any time ;) I wish I'd have taken more of them.

IG, my non rain dance worked good, huh? I was pullin' for ya, pal! I am very sorry I couldn't be there, but you probably figured all you needed was a drunk Indian on your hands there! WHOOOO-O-O-O-E-E-E-E-E! No war dances around the forge!

John it worked great but you're getting rusty it didn't stop the rain it just moved it up the road,
we drove through it about half way to IG's from Maine :D

just like the rest of the times,, I had a blast. met some new guys some formites :) back with friends and the turn out was great, I was sad to see some of the guys didn't show
but more so for the reasons why for some..
J I hope your mom is OK I am
saddened by your loss of your gram too,, my condolences.

IG and mike's great eats :D I enjoyed very much
the cutting contested were very good I think for the first one and it will only get better now we have the first one under our belt. it was amazing that not one blade was damaged in any of the competitions.
beep beep :o I cut 5 cans at once, I should have tried 6 :D
my first comp and surprised the he!! out of me :)

best of all no one got hurt...

.Dan the (pen)
made sure there was no rope left un-cut after the contests were done :D
good thing I wasn't wearing a rope belt
he cut up any rope left in site that had two ends left to them
with that fine chopper he made. I dare say he had fun too
Dan, send pictures of your cable Blade when you get it ground out..

thank you all for making it another great one..

:D  :D

"leave no strand standing" was my motto that afternoon....:o

I had a great time. George was a gracious host and it was so good to put names to faces. Especially "grasshopper"....or as it's said "Grasshoppa"....I felt left out - like I was the only one with a cool NorEaster accent....

I was worried I had selfishly had all the fun to myself...being the new guy, getting somewhat spoiled. Glad to hear everybody enjoyed themselves.

We even had a PortaPotty there!

I tried IG's relish....and the only thing I can say is..."When you gonna put away that pansy sauce bring out the manly hot stuff, George?" :p

So, when's the next one? :D :p

since the PortaPotty, we don't get too pee on the pepper plants anymore :( :p :barf:
that must be the reason the relish is cooling off? :D

Yes...I did notice IG trying to "cool off" the rice on a few occasions....

Boy, What a nice day we had! Thanks to all who put this hammer-in together! I just wish I got there sooner. The food was outstanding! I finally got to try that relish....Nice flavor....I think IG forgot I was Italian...I don't think he got the reaction he wanted out of me. :p Can't wait to see some of the pics.

I poured one beer in it and it was a Bud. I wouldn't use the beer that Dave Brought from Canada. :D

what he won't say is what stage the beer was in when it hit the rice....

I did enjoy the giant bar-b-q sandwiches, though....wow!
