Here is one of my hidden tang neckers in thin stock 1095 for a very lightweight light use utility neck knife that is light enough to not be a pain in the neck!!

I have done about everything that I can think of to get the lightest weight for a good sized and handy utility knife. 3/32" 1095, light wood choices, aluminum short guard, ect......

this is designed not to be a "backup weapon" or "survival knife", but a nice lightweight, easy to carry light duty utility knife.

OAL- 6 5/8"

blade- 3" long, .076" thick at the spine, .035" measured 1/4" behind the edge, and .011" thick at the shoulder of the edge. 11/16" wide

steel- 1095 high carbon, differentially hardened. heat treat includes a double normalize, double anneal, triple edge quench { most of the blades width on these narrow blades} and triple temper for a really nice performing blade that takes and holds a great edge and yet is easy to resharpen!

grind- a full flat grind, sharpened on a Smiths 325 diamond hone with micro bevels, to an agressive razor edge

finish- handsanded 400 grit and etched finish

handle- Lacewood with steel pin, aluminum guard with black spacer. handle is finished with 320 grit with the lines running with the handle so it looks good yet isn't slick

sheath- .060 thick kydex with small black rivets. stripped paracord, easily adjustable, and I can cut it for my new safety feature if you like.

weight - 2.70 ounces for the total package of knife, sheath and cord. That's about the weight of a Zippo lighter!!!!!! for the WHOLE PACKAGE!!

I did a few videos on youtube on my 2 new lines of neckers:

and a destructive test of the Carter style necker https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ONC3lOkoC9c

These are great little knives Joe.
I`ve been using the Hell out of Mine since the beginning of June when I got it.
Can`t seem to get it to point where it needs sharpening ,It still shaves Hair!

Whoever gets this is getting the best necker ever. So light weight, and yet extremely capable. I love mine. It's got enough handle that I can really put some force into cuts on wood, and yet, again, when I'm wearing it I don't even notice it. Joe's kydex is really spot on as well.
