Here is one of my Carter Pattern neckers in thin stock 440c for a very lightweight light use utility neck knife that is light enough to not be a pain in the neck!!

I have been carrying the prototype for a couple of months now and am very pleased with it! Besides the normal everyday tasks like opening mail, trimming fingernails, removing splinters and cutting rope, cardboard, making peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, ect..... I also used it to field dress a couple antelope a few weeks ago {one was my boy's very first antelope!!}, and it did really well, until I got too far over and tried cutting through the ribs instead of the cartilidge between the ribs and sternum, touched it up with a handy rock of about the right grit that was a few feet away, and got back to work! it has also worked nicely on trout and rabbits!

this is designed not to be a "backup weapon" or "survival knife", but a nice lightweight, easy to carry light duty utility knife.

OAL- 6 7/8"

blade- 3 1/4" long, .075" thick at the spine, .030" measured 1/4" behind the edge, and .009" thick at the shoulder of the edge. 3/4" wide

steel- 440c stainless. heat treat is done here in my shop in a pid controlled kiln, and features a single quench into canola oil and double temper for a really nice performing stainless blade!! links to testing videos are below!!

grind- a full flat grind, sharpened on a Smiths 325 diamond hone with micro bevels, to an agressive razor edge

finish- lengthwise machine a45 and blue scotchbrite, done on a small wheel. so the plunges are longer, and there may be some ripples as this was the first set I did that finish on

handle- Bocote with peened brass pins. handle is finished with 320 grit with the lines running with the handle so it looks good yet isn't slick

sheath- .060 thick kydex with small black rivets. stripped paracord, easily adjustable, and I can cut it for my new safety feature if you like.

weight - 2.60 ounces for the total package of knife, sheath and cord. That's about the weight of a Zippo lighter!!!!!! for the WHOLE PACKAGE!!

I did a few videos on youtube on my 2 new lines of neckers:
