I just read knife laws for the state I work in and can only carry 3 inch blade to be legal. Have to be legal at work ( school district). Until now I carried Galye Bradley, Manix 2 M4 or a Stretch ZDP. Need to get 3 inch blade knifes.

Sage series feel bigger than most 3" blades, the Caly 3 is a very nice 3" knife. Both offer lots of options and variety. There are four different Sage's and several steel and handle material choices in the Caly 3.

^^^^^^

I second this.... I prefer the Caly 3.. but there are no flies on any of the Sage's!!

Have dragonfly and Chaparral but just don't seem to EDC those knifes. Want full three inch blade. Wish I could legally carry the Gayle.

Since you edited and added ZDP-189 as the steel to your Stretch, I will add that there is a ZDP-189 version of the Caly 3.

Also, to the guys recommending other knives, I am assuming because he posted this in the Spyderco specific forum he is looking for another Spyderco. Otherwise, he would have posted in the general forum. In general, comparisons between multiple brands goes on in the general discussion forum, and brand specific discussion happens in that companies own sub-forum. Nobody gets too upset in this forum, but I have been chastised in other specific forums for mentioning other brands;)

Spyderco makes a Europe-legal folder -- I tried to find one before we went to England last year but couldn't find one in Calgary. But they are in the catalog.

The Bradley "Air" looks like it would make a nice edc, and its by the same designer that you like now, and the same great M4 steel. It's just over 2.5" but the wharncliffe blade shape exaggerates that length nicely.

I definitely second the Sage series. The Cali 3 is an awesome knife, and so is the Native, but in that exact size, I'd pick a sage over any other Spydie.

I like the Gayle and Stretch blade shape better than the Manix 2 . Caly, Native, and Sage all similar to the Manix or am I wrong.

The UKPK drop point (non-locking) has a similar blade shape to the Stretch/Gayle Bradley shaped blade. The ergos on the UKPK are similar to the Caly 3. What you don't like is the "leaf" shaped blade. That is a very common Spyderco blade shape, and the Stretch/Gayle Bradley is more unique. I love both shapes, some people really do not like the Stretch/Gayle Bradley shape.

Delica or Native 5 are probably two of the best folders made in under 3" blades. The Sage series is right at 3" and probably my favorite ergonomically, but the Native 5 is a tank and the Delica is... well, the Delica - it's a classic design that just keeps on working the way it is.
