need a best man Groomsman gift.

1.) BM 585 - 154cm steel. But I'm not sure if you're looking for larger or small because this is the smaller one.
2.) BM Bone Collector - if you really want a nice gentlemanly folder, check out the Walnut one. These are D2 tool steel. Very good steel, takes a nice edge and holds it well too.

BM 530 comes to mind as small, pocketable, people friendly, gentlemanly and just nice.

BM's H&K line of knives are actually really good, especially for the money, I've owned several and have been very pleased.
Also Lone Wolf makes some really nice beautiful knives.

If I ever have a wedding, they're all getting a Spyderco.

I like the 530 plan on buying for myself some day. But i read that the handles feel too small. What do you guys think?
H&K usa made knife is also one i'm considering.

i read that the BM griptilian's poket clip combined with the grippy surface will wear a hole in your pocket.
they like camping and being outdoors so if the knife looks too gentlemanly they may not use it.

Carbon fiber Sage is $109. It looks nice. What are the sage 2,3,4 what makes them different?

The Spyderco Sage series is a tribute to different knifemakers and their lock designs. The Sage 1 features the Michael Walker liner-lock and carbon fibre. The Sage 2 celebrates Chris Reeve's Integral Lock (aka frame-lock) in titanium like the Sebenza. The Sage 3 is a tribute to Blackie Collins' Bolt Action Lock (substituting G-10 for FRN.) The Sage 4 is a tip o' the cap to Al Mar designs with the ti bolster, mid back-lock and 'luxury' wood scales. They all feature the same basic design, dimensions (the Sage 3 has a slightly longer handle to fit the lock,) wire pocket-clip and blade steel (S30V.) Hope this helps!

If you're reconsidering Taiwan-made knives, have a look at the Spyderco Chaparral. It's a very gentlemanly design that bears a very close resemblance to a Sage 1 (only smaller, thinner, and has a back-lock.)

Ok I see.
I think benchmade is the way to go. Bone collector. Then i Need a smaller bm for next guy. The 710 looks good but it has 3.9 " blade. Do they make a mini 710?

Found a deal on the Benchmade Stryker bm913SD2. $92.00
I think he will really like it, but it's a liner lock. Not axis . It's also discontinued.

Other guy will get a BM890 torrent what do you think? in all black plain edge.

Check THIS out for an interesting Groomsmen gift.

I was going to suggest something else, but after seeing that picture... I'm usually not a fan of big bolsters on modern knives, but that's just so black-tie-looking, like the knife James Bond would carry.

That is nearly word-for-word what I first thought as well. I just had to get one after seeing that pic.

And it seemed like the appropriate thing to suggest for this thread, given that "black-tie" look.

Ok they said they can engrave the sage. so sage and the bone collector. Nice?

Take a look at the 707 Sequel as a mini 710, very nice!

Not to throw a bone into your final stages of your decision, but I believe your original choices in regards to Mcusta was a good one! The Tactility is a great knife and very gentlemanly looking with the great wood handle choices....

The mcusta looks a little weak in the tip. Was thinking the lionsteel daghetta with carbon fiber g10 too.
