Need a folder for carry when dressed up / more formal environments

I work from home so I rarely wear any shirt with a collar. For most of the time my digicam Spyderco Para 2 or my Delica 4 are just fine as an EDC. However, on occasion I have to dress up and go into the office or attend a wedding or funeral. I'd like something less tactical and more "dressy" looking for those occasions. Another reason for it to not look "tactical" is that my workplace strictly bans weapons. If I carry a knife for use at work (on the rare occasion I'm in the office) and it looks at all like a weapon, I'm risking serious problems.

I did have a Victorinox Cadet in Silver Alox for this role, but I traded it away. I decided if I was going to carry a SAK, I wanted scissors. I considered the Victorinox Ambassador, but I'm unsure. I also really like the new Spyderco Sage 4, but I think $180 for something that will be carried so rarely is a bit overkill.

What would you guys (and gals) suggest?

I really like the Benchmade Shoki. It's a handsome knife that can be had for around $150. Other than that, there are plenty of Mcusta knives you can get within a reasonable price range, and pretty much all of their models have a very modern and dressy elegance to them.

+1 for Mcusta. Very elegant knives that are also very functional. Just be aware that many of their models don't have pocket clips.

Forgot to mention that. But they do come with a pretty fancy, flowery pouch! And there's no mistaking it for a weapon with a flowery pouch.

I carry one of these for dressier occasions:

I think the sage 1 is a perfect carry for formal occasions.

I like the look, but I'm not a big fan of liner locks or frame locks. Maybe a Caly 3 would work though. Very similar look to the Sage 1, but with a lock I prefer.

formal, I'd say a case, mabey a russlock. but if your just going for non threatening, sage 1 fits the bill

I say leek as well. Black dlc, it's inexpensive, formal is when i carry Mine. Its not a hard use knife so frame lock is ok

Just for clarification, my issue with frame locks and liner locks has nothing to do with strength. I don't like having to put my thumb in the path of the blade to unlock it. I have cut myself way too many times with knives with those types of locks. Yes, I'm probably a bit of a klutz, but I know my limitations.

I use my UKPK for office cutting. If that was still too much, id probably want a Spyderco airweight or fancied up dragonfly.

I switch off between a custom fb and a Kershaw 1615 Centofante. Great little knife. Small and unassuming, sleek and shiny, and who doesn't love mother of pearl inlays? Rides in a nice little belt sheath.

Forgive the crappy cell pic, all I have at the moment.

The CRK Mnandi is the ultimate polite EDC. It looks so small so people won't raise an eyebrow except maybe to want to take a closer look at that little beauty. I also work at home and don't have an office, but if I get dressed up for a dinner or other special occassion the Mnandi goes in the pocket.

I recently had this same problem. I ended up going with a Buck Solitaire 302 chairman series, beautiful looking knife imo.

Mnandi is the ultimate dress up EDC in my mind. Granted, I don't own one yet but hope to remedy that soon.

The mcusta are going in the wish list. Beautiful knives with Damascus at really reasonable prices.

I carry a bone handled $12 dollar rough rider lockback I found at a local knife shop. I like traditionals for the dressy role.
