Im going to take handle off a Camillus made Kabar and redo the handle. When i put the guard back on i want to seal up the small gaps around it to help keep out moisture and to also keep it from moving around. I was thinking of using red threadlocker or JB weld, would either one of these products work or is there something better that i could use. I really dont want to solder around it if possible, thanks for any advice that anyone can give me.

I'd recomend the JB Weld. Clean both surfaces with acetone or a similar degreaser, dye the JB Weld to match the guard color and then wipe off the excess before it hardens.
Use a cotton swab with acetone to wipe off any JB you get on the guard or the blade before it hardens.

While you have it apart, why not make a properly fitted guard?

I just did a Ka Bar made Ka Bar...I used two of the factory guards with some G10 sandwiched between them.....I used 2-part clear epoxy and it seemed to seal some hair-line gaps. I also did just a little filing to the tang for a better fitting guard.
It all turned out pretty square and solid.

I redid an old Cammie with a stag round.I put a micarta spacer at the original guard with lots of good 2 part epoxy.Nickel Silver butt cap.
