The problem with something really special is that it might not get used, considering for instance how many people seem to be so concerned with rust on a military/survival knife. Maybe a good solution for some is to have a beater for use and to save the really special knife for play and show, especially if it's an 'eye candy special' that you don't want to get scratched, blunted, or chance breaking. The practice will also still support a market for good, affordable users.
