Need a new daily carry

The problem with something really special is that it might not get used, considering for instance how many people seem to be so concerned with rust on a military/survival knife. Maybe a good solution for some is to have a beater for use and to save the really special knife for play and show, especially if it's an 'eye candy special' that you don't want to get scratched, blunted, or chance breaking. The practice will also still support a market for good, affordable users.

Consider the Outdoor Edge Impulse. I don't know if it fits your look profile, but I am sure you will like using it. Super knife for the price.

Another to consider is the David Boye lockback. The Boye lockbacks have excellent ergonomics and a great steel. They can also be had with wide variety of custom handle scales.
