Need a new field coat.

Aramark WorkWear
Walls

Both make very good canvas duck field coats at prices almost half of Carhatt
I have been using the Aramark WorkWear as a work coat
They have lasted me for years
I highly recommend them

RevolverGuy, Thanks for the heads up on the Wolverine Rockford Jacket, mine just showed up and looks to be an excellent buy, especially for $40! Sometimes it pays to be an XXL! John

Don't know if it was the same one that you had, but I had a cabela's coat similar to what you describe for years. It finally wore out last fall and I replaced it in the spring (winters up here require a heavier coat if you work outside) with a carhartt canyon coat. It's been great so far. Still a bit stiff, but it'll loosen up with some more wearing/washing. Canvas coats always do.
My cabelas coat isn't really bad. I just decided to get a new one because I threw it in my tool box on my pickup. But I didn't realize a quart of oil had spilled out in it. So it sat in the oil for about a week before I noticed it.

If you can get another like it from cabela's, that might be the way to go. Then you'd know you'd like it. They quit making the ones like mine, so I had to try something different. The canyon coat was the closest thing I could find. Mid-weight, longish coat with lots of pockets. 2 inside pockets, flap/snap pockets over top of handwarmer pockets and 3 assorted chest pockets. Fabric is a tighter weave than my cabela's one was which can be good or bad depending on the situation. I've been satisfied with it as a replacement so far. You do pay extra for the name on it though. I didn't find anything that looked like I'd like it as well for less or I'd have bought that instead. Good luck.
