Need a new Folder knife! HELP

Dude, save your money up and get this:

You wanted a tough folder right? Well they do not get any tougher

Also had a Cop in Training tell me this. Ok well I still like to get a new knife :)

That Strider SNG looks awesome. But a little out of my price range.
The Benchmade Mini Rukus and Spyderco Military are on my mind.

I think you'd like the Benchmade Axis lock. It's not the same as the lock on the Trident, it's much different ( Trident is more of a bolt lock). You can see videos of axis lock knives on youtube.

Also , if you like SOG knives , you might consider the Vulcan or the Tomcat 3.0, they have axis - type locks too.

I'll go a +1 on the Benchmade 615. You also might want to look at these two Falkniven PXL's, one in white micarta, the other in maroon micarta. Around $200 on the evil e. Linerlocks, deep carry clip for tipdown carry, a laminated blade with a cutting edge of 3G. A real gentlemans tactical piece!:D

Just reread the post and if AO's are in the picture then look no further than the Kershaw Tyrade. One of the Best of the Best!!

Zero Tolerance knives have a great rep for being tough. The 100 (fixed) is one of my dream knives. Check them out. Some are assisted and some are not. Even if you decide you do not want assisted, and this goes for most brands, you can disable or take out the assisted parts and still have a heck of a knife.

THIS!

If you want tough then look no further than Zero Tolerance. 0200 0300 or 0500, you really can't go wrong.

What do you guys think of this knife?

Sog Arcitech. Seems like a tough everyday knife.

I love the Arcitech, I got to see both the Arcitech and the Tomcat at a knife show last weekend.

The Arcitech looks like a scaled down version of the Tomcat. It has a custom look to it and the bolsters are titanium. I saw the dark bone version as opposed to the carbon fiber, but it does come in red bone too. Personally , I prefer the carbon fiber version.

The Tomcat seems to be a better deal, it's significantly bigger, but has no pocket clip.

Those Zero Tolerance 0300 knives have really caught my eye! Now THAT looks tough! Around 280 dollars too. I know this one is Assisted and I guess that is fine. Anyone have personal experiences with this knife? Anyone abuse it? This sure does look like a knife that can withstand a LOT of abuse.

I had the ZT0300 for a short while. I liked the way it felt in the hand. It was a cool knife and could certainly handle some abuse. It was just too heavy/big for me to EDC.

Look in the Kershaw forum for plenty of info and reviews on the ZT 0300 etc.

The ZT0200 is totally manual and it is one of the best deals going when you consider what you get for what you pay. I imagine this knife would still sell well at a $100 higher price tag. Those sculpted G-10 grips are an excellent fit for my hand and the knife just plain seems to be rock steady in hand, along with having as solid a feel as I've felt in a knife. The 154CM blade steel is an excellent steel that only a few years back was the supersteel of it's day and used primarily by custom makers. Thick steel liners keep the blade solidly locked up and the oversized pivot helps the opening process and this is an extremely smooth knife out of the box. The DLC coating on many ZT's is a very hard coating with a rockwell in the 70's. You don't scratch this stuff, instead this stuff scratchs other things!

As good as the ZT0200 is, I like the ZT0500 even better. It's locking system is great and should ensure positive lockup regardless. Of course no matter the locking system your best bet is to always treat a folder as if it had no lock.

These 2 folders are certaintly worth the money and I feel have set a new standard for knives in that price range.:D:thumbup:

Hey. I live in Kansas too. I think you are incorrect about the law. Kansas law has no provisions against assisted knives. Every Walmart and Dick's Sporting Good's I've ever been in has sold Kershaw Speed Assist knives. However, if your township/city does not allow it, that is a different story.

I would say go with Burke Production RockStar. They just did a write up in Tac. Knives and it of course it rec. glowing reports but it just seems like a great build along the lines of a CQC7a only BETTER! keepem sharp
