For fixed really like the swamp rat ratmandu. It's $160 and one of the most comfortable handles I've ever held.

An emerson, mini cqc or any mini should be in your budget. Zt makes some great knives in your price range too. Im only familiar with the zt 0562 and its a good knife. Cold steel has some great offerings below your budget. The code 4 and recon one are good.

How about a custom shop Buck 110 with S30V blade and Elk, Buffalo Horn, Ram Horn, or G10 scales?

I'd take a hard look at the two higher end LionSteel offerings. I am, especially the flipper/ the 2016 Blade Show knife.

You could get a Fiddleback Forge midtech. Fairly readily available

I would definitely second a Ratmandu(RMD) from Swamprat. Also from swamprat, you might find a deal on a Ratweiler, and almost everything from Scrapyard knife company is a great deal in your price range. The best place to grab any of those is probably the Busse exchange substructure right here on blade forums. Readily available on the exchange.

Nathan the Machinist / Carothers would also be a great way to go. They have a subforum on here as well. Not readily available I don't think, but becoming more so.

That is enough to get you into a custom or small batch maker as well if you look through the knife maker for sale forums.

For folders it sounds like you already have that price point really well covered.

ETA: if you are up for doing your own handle, Hunter Martin had some heat treated and sharpened Machete blanks in 52100. I have one with redwood handles and it is awesome. Or if you want one with really nice handles on it already, the Fiddleback machetes are great, but Hunter's steel and heat treat is several steps above anything else I've ever seen in a machete. I love both of them. Huntsman Knife Company

A couple of folders I EDC are the Knives Of Alaska Strike Force, Zero Tolerance 0350BW, Microtech LUDT 135-7, Kizer Ki4448 GTi and the Lion Steel SR2AGS.

Maybe custom knife factory? Might be able to catch something on the exchange for a good price. (MORRF series)
