Need a new motorcycle helmet, opinions please.

I recently bought a Shoei RF 1000 and could not be happier. I tryed on Arai, HJC and Schuberth. I thought I wanted a flip up but the salesman talked me out of it. He said they were louder, got loose over time and there were more parts too break. I went with fit alone and tried not too look at the pricetags.
I had been wearing a half helmet that wanted too lift at speed and strangle me. That and it was too loud over 55. Or it might have been either a large insect or small bird I killed with my face. Anyway, I went with the fullface Shoei and my fears of being claustrophobic and hot were unfounded. I feel much safer.

i don't know about comfort, but back in 1999, a scout sergeant from my unit was returning to camp on his bike, when a car slammed into him from behind
he took a spill, smacked the back of his head into the asphalt
helmet split into 2, he was ok
it was an arai helmet fwiw

Found it! Page 28 of Proficient Motorcycling by David Hough. Here is a portion of the text that accompanies the chart:

The full study was published in The Proceedings of the 1991 International Motorcycle Conference.

I'm not against people wearing half helmets, and I'm opposed to helmet laws for adults. But I hope that each person making that decision for themselves utilizes that chart to help make an educated decision. Their own stastistical likelihood of crashing, comfort level with risk, pain tolerance, family status, etc. would all be other factors to consider when making the choice of helmet vs. no helmet vs. partial helmet.

Thanks a lot, I will share this fact in one of my "safety moment"

I got my Shoei Multitec yesterday. I love it! As has been stated, it is not as quiet as the old Shoei fullface it has replaced, but it is WAY more quiet than my half helmet and it is really well made. Feels great, has all of the features that I was looking for, and makes riding feel more fun again. No more rocks, bugs in the face!;)
