I never had a problem with using a soldering gun. You need more heat than from a little 40 watt pencil type and more than 30 seconds. More like 3 minutes.

hey only takes the front screw out but it’s a pivot barrel spacer with screws on each side

FWIW, threw the stripped screw and pivot barrel spacer into Xylene in a baby food jar on Sunday and walked away. Came back tonight, and unscrewed it with zero resistance. Could have done it with my fingers. Worked great. Thanks guys!

Wasn't zylene used to burn holes in pistons as well
