Need a recommendation for a budget EDC

Hey folks. I'm looking to treat myself to a new EDC folder. I'd like something slim, deep carry clip, decent steel, no more than $40. It needs to be one hand opener or at least able to pull open with fingers. My nails are often too short for nail Nick's.

I'm about ready to pull the trigger on a Steel Will Intrigue Mini but I wanted to see if you all had any other recommendations. Ontario RAT 2 is my current second choice. Really looking for something that doesn't take up a lot of pocket space. Bonus points it has a caplifter on it.

Look up wave opener like kershaw cqc k series, the wave can also act as a caplifter as well as fast opening

If you want the Intrigue, just get it! Why do you care what I like? For the record, tho, that would be a Ruike P-108. 14C28N steel, flat steel handles, flipper, with a lock. Cost me $35. Been carrying it since April. Good little knife, and not just for the money....

Yeah I'd recommenf a Kershaw Emerson with D2 blade. Not deep carry but you could get a clip

I think you are on the right track already, I have a full size Intrigue, Modus and a mini Cutjack.

I like the first 2 the most, but the little Cutjack isn't bad either. I recently have tried out a Cold Steel Working Man, but the 4116 steel didn't hold an edge as well for me as the Steel Will D2. I use these knives mostly for farm chores like removing the outer wrap on large round hay bales.

Just a couple days ago I got my first Byrd knife (Hawkbill) to try for bale wrap. Seemed like a good deal for about 24 bucks. I have gifted Byrd Meadowlarks and they were well received.

Lots of good suggestions here. The SOG Terminus and Manly WASP have caught my eye. Not sure enough to pull me away from the Intrigue though :) I'm not a fan of "wave" knives.

Any thoughts on the CRKT M16? It's a little more tactical looking than I would prefer but I like its slim profile.

This ruike is really good.
P801.
This thing surprised me with how well it can work wood for what it is. Slim and deep carry.

The wasp is awesome. What an amazingly thin slicer.

Deep pocket clip and SOLID "lockup".

Lots of confidence using the knife.

The M16 is a crappy slicer, with it's grind, although a good stabber.

Thanks for the input. I dont plan on doing much stabbing. Heading to look at the WASP again....

The Manly Peak is only $5 cdn more, one handed and a back lock and longer... But I have no experience with them.

According to the specs, it's double the edge thickness, so not likely near the slicer of the wasp.

Man I like the WASP but all I have to make this purchase is $40 on an Amazon gift card. The WASP is a bit more expensive on Amazon. I bookmarked it though. I may go with the Intrigue this time but the Manly is on my short list!
