Need a slightly more tactical sheath for a Koster Bushmaster

Hey all.

I normally carry either a Chopweiler/Swampwarden in a combo leather JRE sheath or soon to carry a JK Kephart/pocket Kephart in a combo leather JRE sheath.

I'm in the pool waiting for the Koster Bushmaster which I have coming with black micarta handles. My thoughts are, this can be a more tactical-ish knife that I could strap to my pack strap and act real cool with :) You know... for ninjas and whatnot that may possibly attack me in the wilds.

So... I need a cool tactical sheath. The only Kydex I've ever been happy with was one Eric from Onscene did for me a couple years back. I've fiddled around with those one-size-fits-some spec ops sheaths, but they won't fit the Bushmaster snuggly I'm sure.

Any ideas? Does anyone make a nifty tacti-cool sheath that would increase my manhood while still snuggly carassing my Koster Bushmaster? :D

talk to Robert over at survival sheaths.. he'll take care of you... there are a lot of other good kydex sheath maers around, as well....

Dan does kydex with teklok, or you can mold the spec-ops sheaths.

That's probably the easiest, just have Dan do a kydex for me when he ships it out.

Never used a teklok. Are those as fantastic as some people say?

I know Dan is doing this new kydex style where he builds it like a droploop leather. It's a little, what's the right adjective, "bubbly" looking though. I dunno. It's really oval. I suppose that might just be because the example he used was a karda that is very curved. A straight knife might not be so oval shaped.

Dan did a nice, form fitting kydex for one of my bushcrafts, very low profile and great retention.

Teklok are ok, but they go on the belt, they won't really help with attachment to a pack strap. But, you can remove the teklok, then you just have the sheath part and you can attach that to the pack strap in some way, paracord or even plastic ties.

I have to say after using the Rat cutlery kydex sheaths that I really like having grommets on both sides of the blade. It makes for a wider profile, but the lashing options are much more versatile. Not to mention that you can use simple paracord as your belt loops rather than going the tek-lok route.

OMG I almost forgot about Blind Horse Knives! The have a unique kydex set-up where one can adjust the tightness of the sheath. I tried it out at the last Fingerlakes N.F. gathering. It is kick @$$!!!
