Need a small EDC

Thanks for all your advice! Yes, I had completely forgotten to mention the Benchmade offers. I was just looking at the 530 and the 707 sequel. I know some people have a gripe with the g10 inlay on the 707 but I'm not very rough with knives so think that it will be a good fit. Despite it's size, I'm still leaning towards the paramilitary 2. I think the plastic handle of the native is more irritating that it's bulk.

Still undecided,

You can't go wrong with a Para 2 in my opinion. I have had mine for around a month and it's by far my favorite knife in the arsenal. Even if you do end up finding something lighter for carrying in the office, the Para 2 will keep finding it's way into your pocket... Mine does.

Ok folks, I've found a Benchmade dealer in the KC area so that I can go and take a look at the Osborne 940, which according to some youtube videos and amazon reviews, is a good one. I'm hoping that they have a mini grip also so I can see how the scales are. I'm afraid that they will be too grippy to slide in and out of a jean pocket. Other knives that I'm considering are the Spyderco Dragonfly, Sage II, and still the Para 2. I know most of them balloon quite beyond my previous size considerations but I'm interested to see how the size works with different scales and a alternatively shaped blade.

an option is the discontinued kershaw energ. it is a very nice slicer of a blade that can get scalpel sharp with very little effort, and cuts cardboard like a champ. it is also about 50 bucks. that said, it might be too thick to be classified as a thin knife. check it out.

i have a bone collector and its a great knife. however i fine the delica to be more comfortable to carry. i have the older one with no liners and the coin screw clip.

I've got Mini-Grips, Small Bone Collector and a 707 Sequel. Size wise; the Sequel is definitely the smallest. It doesn't have much of a belly on the blade either. I like the knife but it's more for indiscreet carry. The Bone Collector is the largest of these three models. It's got a blade that has the thickness of a large Griptilian in a Mini-Grip package. Well, actually it is a little bit bigger than a Mini-Grip. The Bone Collector feels much bigger in the pocket than the Mini-Grip does. All that being said, I still prefer my Mini-Grip. With the Mini-Grip I get something that's pretty versatile for an EDC. I can put it on my belt or clip it inside my pocket, depending on where I am and what I'm doing.

My first EDC knife was a Kershaw Skyline. It is super thin, and has a decent edge and takes and hold a edge very well, if all your looking for is to get into boxes you can find it for under $40 dollars everywhere, even at wal-mart, and the flipper opening is just fun to do if you are bored.

Thanks for everyone's suggestions! I decided to go with the carbon fiber Caly 3 with ZDP-189 steel. I'll let everyone know how I feel once it arrives. I'm still very tempted to pick up the Skyline and a Mini Grip at some point.
